THE MILITARY, THE POLICE AND SOME KEY MAMPRUSI GOVERNMENT APPOINTEES ARE THE CURRENT PROBLEM WE ARE FACING IN BAWKU TODAY –
YIRIMIYA, AMADU HAMZA , MADAM GABIANA AND DR BAWUMIA THE VICE PRESIDENT WHO REMAINS SILENT ARE ALL AWARE OF THE ACTIONS OF THE MAMPRUSI BANDITS IN BAWKU
It is clear without doubt that the military, the police and some key BAWKU Mamprusi appointees are the ones fueling the Bawku conflict.
I will say this without fear or favour that the military and the entire security in Bawku have no use in the Bawku conflict. The Curfew they have imposed on the people of Bawku has no impact and we are calling on them to remove the curfew and allow us to defend ourselves, properties and communities from the attacks by Mamprusis Bandits. The military and the entire Mamprusis know very well that if the military and the security withdraw their services from the Bawku conflict, this war will end in just a day.
I am saying this because.
1) The military imposed a curfew on us and we obeyed and followed their orders in 2008 the Mamprusis bandits wore military uniforms and entered a Kusasi community Buabula where they slaughter children and women.
2) The same military and security services asked us to go in because of the curfew. We obeyed but on May 2022, the Manprusis bandit again went to a Seignatinga and killed two young men and a woman when it was raining at night.
3) They said there was curfew whiles we all went into our houses, as we obeyed the law, the same Mamprusis Bandits went to Bawku Timber market, very close to the police station, burned down a Kusasis business man properties, shot at a Busanga man leg, who was a watchman and killed an innocent Ewe man from Volta Region. We kept mute and reported the issue to the police but nothing happened. This incident happened in the month of August 2022 – just last week.
4) This week again, On the 29/08/2022, at 11-12 pm, The Mamprusis Bandit again entered a Kusasi community, Gengade, with military uniforms in a pickup car and attacked the community, shot a small boy hand, and attempted to burn a house but with the intervention of the community boys they were not able to succeed.
I will want to call on the ministry of the interior to withdraw the curfew or better still, asked his security personnel to withdraw from this Bawku Conflict. We shall settle this issue ourselves.
we don’t need their services anymore.
We are tired of the disturbances from the Mamprusis bandits who only occupied a small section within Bawku township and are terrorizing the whole Kusasis kingdom.
They claim they are fighting for chieftaincy, which matter had been settled 22 years ago by the supreme court.
What they are now hoping is to bring total instability in Bawku.
The main reason why we the real owners of the land (Kusasis) always preach peace and relying on the security and the government to look into this matter to bring finality to the issue. But they the Manprusis have refused to listen to the call by our Zugraan, the overlord for the Kusaug Kingdom, to give peace a chance.
I will want to state today that any day, time, or hour we see or experience any attack by the Manprusis bandits during curfew hours again, we swear to God who made us we shall also start to disobey curfew hours and will also make sure that the Mamprusis will leave Bawku that very night and time – mark our statement. This statement goes to anyone who is concerned.
Lastly, We are also calling on the National Media Commission to close down Bawku FM and Gumah FM which, are used as tools to insult Kusasis and the Zugraan on daily bases. This has been their norms ever since these two radio stations were opened and in operation.
