Nana Yaw Kyei, a popular fetish priest from Adansi Aboabo, has been elected as the new constituency chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Adansi Asokwa Constituency.
The new chairman popularly known as Okomfuo Kyei polled 436 votes to defeat the incumbent Godwin Anumley Dogodzi who polled 285 votes at the party delegates conference in Adansi Asokwa.
Nana Kyei thanked the delegates for accepting his message of change and promised to win a parliamentary seat for the party.
He called for a united front for the task ahead, saying unity and determination would be needed to regain power from the ruling New Patriotic Party.
Mr. Asafo Agyei, the regional representative, called on members of the party, especially the youths, to work hard to unseat the current MP, KT Hammond.
Other officers elected were Mr. Joseph Ankomah, Vice Chairman, Mr. Lawrence Osei Adarkwa, Secretary, Mr. Amidu Raman Razark, Deputy Secretary and Kwabena Ebo, Organizer.
The rest were Mr Moses Appenteng, Treasurer, Mr Isaac Semirika, Youth Organiser, Mrs Mavis Adjei, Women Organiser, Mr Julius Dzekpey Mawuli, Communications Officer.
However, the election of extended executives was put on hold due to some technical issues.
