The chief of Sefwi Elubo, Nana Anini Baffour, who was arrested with his brother for illegal mining, has been released on bail.
Both and two others were released on bail by His Worship Lawrence Buenor on Monday, September 26.
They were granted bail of GH¢100,000 each with a Ghana Card surety.
They are scheduled to appear in court again on Tuesday, October 11.
Nana Anini Baffour and his brother Kwadwo Affi were arrested by the police in the North West region on Friday September 16 after a video of their activities went viral.
The video showed some of the town’s clustered houses defaced by the activities of illegal miners.
Some peasants led the chief’s brother to his bedroom.

Two other persons – Mr Maxwell Quansah and Mr Williams Acquah – were later detained by the police.
The accused were charged with conspiracy to commit the crime of mining without a license and mining without a license.
