2022 BECE starts today; more than 500,000 exam candidates
More than 500,000 candidates will sit for this year’s Certificates of Basic Education (BECE), which start today, 17 October 2022.
The exam, which will last for one week, will be written in 2,033 centers across the country.
Students are expected to start with Social Studies and ICT papers.
Ahead of the examination, the Ghana Education Service calls on all students and other key stakeholders at the various examination centers to desist from any form of examination malpractice.
Meanwhile, the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) is calling on invigilators and invigilators of this year’s examination to abide by all invigilation rules.

The Association’s General Secretary Thomas Musah said: “We all know the implications of the rules of engagement. Nobody’s going to go and supervise and say they don’t know the rules of engagement.”
“So to the extent that you have been invited to assist in the conduct of the examination, it requires anyone who has that opportunity to live up to the expectations,” Mr Musah said.
